If you are conscious about the increasing threat of global warming then I am sure that you want to make your home as eco-friendly as possible. After all, each of us can help protect the environment in our own way. If you are serious about this, then, how about using bamboo for floorings?

Not sold on the idea that using bamboo for floorings? Well, you should first hear out the advantages of using said material. For one, it is easier to grow bamboo than hardwood. In Asian countries, bamboo grows abundantly and they grow easily. So even if the demand increases, the supply will not waver.

The leftover leaves of the bamboo are used as food for livestock in the United States and in Asia. That fact is enough for conservationist to embrace the use of bamboo.

When it comes to aesthetic, bamboo flooring has an advantage over hardwood too. For one, it has a better resiliency than say pine or vinyl flooring surfaces. It is also of high strength despite its rapid growth rate. What that means is that you can use this for high traffic areas and it can give you years and years of service.

As for cost; bamboo flooring’s price varies greatly depending on its quality of course. But you can save a lot using bamboo as it offers the option of installing it by yourself.
